Inter Allies enhanced their relegation survival hopes with a 3-2 vcitory over Berekum Chelsea at the Tema Park in the Ghana Premier League on Wednesday.
Prior to the tie, Allies had knocked out Chelsea from the MTN FA Cup after beating them over the weekend and the Blues went into the repeat fixture with revenge back on their minds.
And, Benedict Alford gave them the right impetus when he shot them in front on the 15th minute mark with well composed finish. His goal was a statement of intend by Chelsea.
Bennett Ofori curled a free kick home from 20 yards to give Chelsea the lead but a slick combination play between Stephen Owusu Ansah and Sadat Karim fetched the equaliser for Inter Allies FC.
But the host, responded appropriately when Sadat Karim scored against his former side to cancel Chelsea’s lead.
Allies put themselves in the lead just before the half hour mark to seemingly confirm their superiority over Chelsea when Tala N’Diaye raced free to knock the ball home for Allies and Herbert Addo reacted from the touchline by punching a fist into the air.
Chelsea tried to come into the game but Allies scored their third goal before the Blues pulled another back.
