Inter Allies FC displayed a fantastic performance on Sunday when Kumasi Asante Kotoko visited the Tema Stadium in the 5th week of the Ghana premier league. The Allies team from the blast of the whistle dominated the game but wasted numerous chances. Allies striker Proper Kasim disturbed the Kotoko defense early in the game but his shot at goal went wide in the 10th minute.
He had other great opportunities after penetrating into the Kotoko defense easily several times but luck was not on his side as he threw the chances away. Ilyasu Fuseini a faward liner for the Inter Allies was also a pest for Kotoko and created numerous chances but failed to score. His 30 yard strike hit the cross bar about 20 minutes in the half which could have seen Inter Allies go up 1-0 in the 1st half.
The new premier league entrants received a lot of praise for their beautiful play but luck was not on their side as they waisted all the chances that came their way. Patrick Bortey on the wings for Allies was fantastic same as Shamsu Alhassan. They were able to use the wings well and supplied the attackers with beautiful crosses and passes.
Kumasi Asante Kotoko who did not create a lot of chances took advantage of a corner kick five minutes to full time and netted the only goal in the game. Kotoko’s top striker Yahaya Mohammed was man marked and not allowed to have his day by Baba Mensah of Allies. The pair of Baba Mensah and Joseph Aidoo in defense was solid and the Kotoko forward liners could not penetrate the Inter Allies defense. Yahaya Mohammed’s only chance came a few minutes to full time when he got space to head a corner kick that sealed the day for Kotoko and Inter Allies were left disappointed.
