Match Summary – Inter Allies 1-0 Hearts of Oak:

We recorded our first win of the campaign by  beating city rivals and giants Hearts of Oak at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday evening.

Richmond Lamptey’s second half strike from distance earned us our first three points of the 2020/21 Ghana Premier League Season.

The Phobians who were playing their second game of the campaign started the game with more attacking instincts but fluffed the early chances that came their way.

The technical team made two changes to the losing side at Karela last week with Paul Abanga and Fard Ibrahim returning to the starting XI.

Collins Kudjoe started from the bench with Ivan Kpeglo missing out of the match due to illness. Gideon Ahenkorah returned to the bench after recovering from illness.

Hearts largely dominated the first half going close to the opener on several occasions just for Inter Allies to be saved by some poor finishes.

The second half had another script. Inter Allies had settled and warmed into the game and came back from recess a stronger side.

Their pressure was rewarded two minutes after the hour mark, Richmond Lamptey received a pass from the midfield and sent a missile into the top corner.

A strike that the goalkeeper could do nothing about, the hosts held on firm to their slender lead until the end of the match.

Our midfield Richmond Lamptey who’s goal was the difference between both sides was named the NASCO Man of the match.
