Winger Lord Ofosuhene has heaped a lot of praise on the club’s head coach Herbert Addo ahead of the FA Cup final and insists they are shaping and preparing well for the tough encounter on Sunday.
Kotoko who have won the2013/14 league will face Inter Allies in the MTN FA Cup on Sunday.
Despite their success on the local front, winning the league for 23 times and the FA Cup 8 times, Lord admits the Porcupines are a good side but not a better side than the ‘Eleven Is To One’ boys and their huge success does not intimidate them.
When asked whether the success story of Kotoko pose some fear to the team, he replied: “No I don’t think so because every club has its own belief, Kotoko is a good club – the league champions but that does not mean they are better than Inter Allies. There is no element of fear in any of the guys in camp ahead of this final, this shows how ready we are for them,” the former Rio Ave man told the club’s website [www.interalliesfc.com]
The pacey winger also believes the players owe a lot to the club’s head coach Herbert Addo and his technical handlers for the correct shaping and lifting them out of the relegation to finish their debut top flight football 6th on the league table and even through to the FA Cup finals.
“Herbert Addo as coach is a very good tactian. His presence in the club has helped us a lot and everybody can see, the club was a little bit down but when he came he lifted the club to the highest level.”
“For me I think he (Herbert Addo) is really important to the club and its a good thing that the team has a coach like Herbert Addo, his tactics are really helping the club a lot and his backroom staff are really working hard to support him.”
Despite exhibiting fine football with a lot of possession in the first half of the season, the team lost their first seven games and pundits wrote the team off of any chances of survival but the second round changed.
Inter Allies went eight games unbeaten after losing to Amidaus in the second round and Lord says the inclusion of players in the second round really helped to end the league season well.
“As you can see people thought we were not a good club in the first round and we were only in to be the whipping boys and dash points out. The perception changed in the second round, when the likes of Fatawu, Benogo, Kabore etc and myself came in to beef the squad and lift the team to where it is now, thanks to Herbert for where we are now.”
In conclusion, Lord said the fans should make it to the stadium to delight themselves with the ‘beautiful’ football the Eleven Is To One boys will present to them and crown it with victory.
“On Sunday, the fans should troop in in their numbers to watch International Allies, to watch good football and prepare to enjoy themselves with what we will serve them, we are coming out with full attack to grab the victory. He shouted ELEVEN IS TO ONE!!!”
