Amartey makes debut World Cup appearance

Former Inter Allies starman Daniel Amartey had a taste of the enviable football tournament, the FIFA World Cup.

The Leicester City center-back was rewarded for his hard work at the national team with a starting role on Thursday evening against Portugal.

He was part of a solid 3-back formation that was strategically set by the head coach, Otto Addo.

The Black Stars, despite losing 2-3 to Portugal on opening day, gave a very good account of themselves.

Amartey lasted the entire duration of the match and displayed yet another fantastic performance in the national team colors.

Also, ex-Inter Allies defender Joseph Aidoo was on the matchday list and watched the game from the bench.

Ghana will only hope to keep qualification from the Group Stage hopes alive when they face South Korea on Monday, with only one job to do, just win.
