Baba Mensah featured for the Local Black Stars as Ghana failed to qualify to the 2016 African Nations Championship after losing 1-0 to Ivory Coast on Friday.

The defender played 50 minutes as the Home-based Black Stars who won the first leg 2-1 in Kumasi a fortnight ago failed to qualify after Davy Koffi Boua’s 35th minute goal saw the Ivorians sail through on the away goal rule.

Baba Mensah had a tough game as the defender was played in midfield but was substituted in the 50th minute as his side were unlucky in the second half as they failed to convert all the chances that came their way.

This is the first time Ghana will miss out of the tournament after finishing as runners at the last edition staged in South Africa in 2014.
