Felix Aboagye – We played well, we are not disappointed:
Coach Felix Aboagye faced the media after the 1-0 defeat to Hearts of Oak at the Accra Sports Stadium.
QUESTION – What do you make of the game?
Aboagye – I think we played very well and displayed tough character but it is unfortunate we lost. We had some great opportunities to equalize but we fluffed our chances and couldn’t score, we are not disappointed – we will take it from here and build towards getting more points.
QUESTION – Your biggest headache after taking this job?
Aboagye – To be able to gather some points and make sure we win some games, climb up on the league table and take Inter Allies out of the relegation zone. I know it is a tall order even in your minds, you’d be thinking that we cannot do it but in football, anything can happen. So, we are not worried at all – there are a lot of games to be played and we will get out of the relegation zone.
QUESTION – Looking at the points tally, Allies need to get around 25 points from the remaining games to survive, do you think that’s feasible?
Aboagye – Yes, it’s very possible. It’s a tall order for you but with our team, it is very possible because we cannot give up now and as a coach, I don’t want to give up because we want to fight and the boys have promised to fight.
QUESTION – Will Inter Allies survive this league?
Aboagye – Yes we will survive, in football everything is possible – don’t write us off we didn’t start the season well but others will fall and we will rise because we are a great team and we will push hard to maintain our Premier League status.
QUESTION – Would you say luck eluded your team in this match?
Aboagye – Sometimes we cannot base everything on luck and other things, we had opportunities to score two or three goals because they scored from just one golden chance while we missed more. When luck eludes you sometimes don’t find your rhythm but today we found our rhythm, we possessed well and caught them by surprise but unfortunately, we couldn’t score we hope to bounce back to winning ways soon.
QUESTION – What is this one thing that has to change going forward?
Aboagye – Our away performance/results, we can win all our home games but look at the position we find ourselves we have to be picking points from the away games because if we should be losing all the away games then we’d be in trouble.
