Setting for himself a trademark, Gockel Ahortor’s ability from set-pieces has become an “extra weapon” for the ‘Eleven Is To One’ this season.

The midfielder who has a good technique in ball distribution wants to further add another, by being deadly from dead ball situations.

He is currently in the best form of his career and has scored 5 goals so far this season with 4 of them coming from free kicks.

“Every player has been blessed with a technique, some score goals easily, some pass very well and others deliver crosses well etc… but I want to be a free kick expert,” Ahortor explained to the club’s website.

“You must work hard with more practices, concentration and focus on what you are trying to do to be able to do it well and that’s exactly what I’m doing now.”

He scored a remarkable 35-yard free kick against Hearts of Oak in Inter Allies’ 2-3 loss before getting a another in the ‘Eleven Is To One’s’ 3-1 defeat to Ebusua Dwarfs.

The midfielder who’s bent on mastering his craft also scored from a set piece in Inter Allies’ 1-1 draw against Hasaacas and in the club’s 2-0 win over Wa All Stars.

He featured for the home-based Black Stars (Ghana’s senior national team B) earlier this year in their trip to Japan for an international friendly.
