Joseph Aidoo stars in Ghana Black Stars 2-1 win over Central Africa Republic

Ex-Inter Allies captain, Joseph Aidoo had a fair share of playing time for the Black Stars as they beat Central Africa Republic 2-1 to qualify for the 2023 TotalErnegies Africa Cup of Nation.

The Black Stars sealed a hard-fought home win at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi on Thursday afternoon, where the Celta Vigo defender lasted the entire duration of the match.

The aggressive and hardworking center back paired with Alex Djiku in the absence of former Inter Allies defender Daniel Amartey and Salisu Mohammed due to injury.

He was very solid at the back and made sure his kept his marker at bay.

The visitors CAR scored first after 25 minutes via Louis Mafouta. However, Ghana fought back and got two goals late in both halves via Mohammed Kudus and Ernest Nuamah.

The Black Stars ended as group winners, sailing through alongside Angola, who were second after six matches.
