Inter Allies left-back Patrick Kpozo won the 20013/14 MTN FA Cup Discovery Of The Year award while Joseph Aidoo and Osei Kwame missed out on the Defender and Goalkeeper of The Year awards respectively.

The Discovery of The Year award is designed to recognize the most impressive young player during the tournament each season and reward them for their outstanding contribution to the competition.

Kpozo on Saturday night claimed the prestigious title night at the Banquet Hall of the State House in Accra.

The full-back had to fend off stiff competition from a strong shortlist of nominees which included Elvis Opoku of Gold Stars, Benjamin Tetteh of Mighty Jets and Lassana Coulibaliy of Feyernood FC.

He was presented the award with the full support of goalkeeper Osei Kwame, defender Joseph Aidoo and team manager Reuben Adjetey.

“I thank God and my team-mates for this award my aim was to play good football and make my team look better, I embrace this moment and I hope more comes next season,” he said.

Aidoo lost out the Defender of the year award to Abeiku Ainooson of Kotoko and Osei Kwame also lost out the Goalkeeper of the year award to Theophilus Jackson of Feyernoord.

The ceremony saw CEO/Brands Manager Mr. Delali Senaye receive a cheque of GHC 15,000 for being the runners-up of the tournament.
