Inter Allies registered three straight victories with a 2-0 win over bottom-placed BA United at the Accra Sports Stadium on Saturday in the First Capital Plus Premier League week 22 game.

The “Eleven Is To One” recorded only the second away win of the season courtesy an early goal from Kwamina Ropapa Mensah and Emmanuel Nettey in each half with yet another terrific display.

Ropapa Mensah had a sterling day and could have grabbed a brace or a hat trick, however BA United’s goalkeeper Osei Lawrence had to pull some world class saves to prevent him.

Coach Paa Kwesi Fabin mounted a very strong squad with Simon Martey shifted to the left side of defence, Wahab Ackwei was on the other side (right back) leaving Joseph Aidoo and Baba Mensah in the heart of defence.

Osei Kwame was left in between the sticks. Lord Ofosuhene on the right and Fredrick Yamoah on the left were the wingers with Gockel Ahortor pairing with Emmanuel Nettey in midfield. Ropapa Mensah started upfront with Fuseini Eliasu.

After grabbing a surprise draw in Wa against All Stars in their previous game, BA United were very determined to take all maximum points but it took Ropapa Mensah just 57 seconds to kill all their hopes.

A teasing corner kick from Fredrick Yamoah on the left side wasn’t cleared and Ropapa Mensah was fast to react, he chested down and blasted in from close range as early as 57 seconds.

The hosts were unable to settle after going down so early, series of chances were created but Emmanuel Nettey on a powerful drive, Ropapa Mensah from close range, Lord Ofosuhene from the right fluffed their chances.

BA united were close to the equaliser in the 17th minute after their striker Karim Tabla headed from five yards, but Osei Kwame with a fantastic save grabbed the ball one time to cool off their hopes.

Afterwards, the two teams had their chances but didn’t turn them to goals and Paa Kwesi Fabin’s men took the slender lead to the dressing room at half time.

Momentum, mentality and the pressure for a second didn’t change as Inter Allies continued exactly where they left in the first half. The “Eleven Is To One” came back from the recess with a more attacking style.

Gockel Ahortor launched a ‘delicious’ ball to Ropapa Mensah who was left one-on-one with the goalkeeper, his effort was parried to Emmanuel Nettey who aimed at a rebound and he slotted home coolly to double the lead just two minutes after recess.

Despite Inter Allies dominating the rest of the half and creating a lot of chances, the “Eleven Is To One” failed to add to the tally, though welcomed the comfortable win at the end of the final whistle.
