It’s victory at last, after going five matches without a win, Inter Allies bounced back to winning ways with a comfortable 4-0 win over Bechem United at the Tema Sports Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

Isaac Twum got the opener in the first half before Prince Baffoe from the spot, Gockel Ahortor and Ropapa Mensah all scored in the second half to bring back smiles all over again.

Coach Herbert Addo made key changes to the squad that lost to Ebusua Dwarfs last week, Abdul Halik Hudu made his official debut for the club after gaining promotion to the first team.

Goalkeeper and captain Osei Kwame returned in between the sticks for the first this season after recovering from injury.

Uriah Kporvi formed a defensive pair with Kingsley Nnamdi, Ibrahim Alhassan was at the right back, Isaac Twum started at the right side of attack.

Inter Allies were the better side from the blast of the referee’s whistle as the ‘Eleven Is To One’ produced top quality football on a very sunny Sunday afternoon in the harbour city.

It was Isaac Twum who brought the first laugh to the home fans who have long waited for a win. The midfielder dummied from the left side and blasted home the opener in the 32nd minute.

The goal brought sparkles to the game but the goals waited until the second half. Ropapa Mensah sneaked the ball through Bechem United’s defence but was brought down upon his final delivery for a penalty kick.

Prince Baffoe stepped up and slotted home his second goal of the season in the 55th minute.

On the 60 minute, Gockel Ahortor then made it three from close range after Evans Mensah had forced the goalkeeper to palm to Ahotor.

Ropapa Mensah put the icing on the cake after a hard day’s work, he dribbled past his marker to put himself through on goal with the goalkeepe, he placed the ball well to the bottom corner to seal victory.

Inter Allies now lie 8th on the league table after this win and will hope to keep the momentum into the next game.
