Inter Allies played out a goalless draw with Hearts of Oak in the match-day 19 of the 2014/15 First Capital Plus Premier League at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday.
Playing as guests in the regional derby at the Accra Sports Stadium against Hearts of Oak was certainly going to be a top liner regardless of where they are placed on the ladder.
Coach Paa Kwesi Fabin made only one change to his squad that drew 1-1 against Ashanti Gold in midweek. Fuseini Eliasu replaced Abass Mohammed in the starting line up, the latter started from the bench.
With Hearts losing 2-0 to Wa All Stars and Inter Allies drawing 1-1 with Ashanti Gold in their respective previous games, the regional derby commenced high on emotion and top in quality with both sides eager for a win.
Issah Yakubu had a good game, he attacked from the right side and set Sheriff Mohammed and Eliasu Fuseini on goal several times but the strikers failed nick a goal at half time.
The second half was similar to the first half, this time the Phobians were more purposeful and asked several questions.
However, Baba Mensah and Joseph Aidoo were so resolute at the back, goalkeeper Osei Kwame also had a fantastic day as he saved Inter Allies with brilliant saves.
Both sides failed to find the back of the net and the that exciting regional derby ended in a draw.
Inter Allies now lies 12th on the league log with 24 points. The ‘Eleven Is To One’ face Wa All Stars in the next match of Sunday, 28th June 2015.
