Inter Allies were held to a 1-1 stalemate by Medeama SC at the Tema Sports Stadium to clear match day 23 fixture of the 2015/16 Ghana Premier League.
Gockel Ahortor’s late free kick wasn’t enough to complete a comeback for the ‘Eleven Is To One’ after Kwesi Donsu had shot Medeama into the lead in the first half.
It happened to be a very tough afternoon for coach Jimmy Corbblah’s side who needed the maximum points more.
The visitors started very well despite coming under excessive pressure in the early minutes, they fended off the pressure to control the game.
Kwesi Donsu scored from free kick from a very long range to open we the scoring in the opening minutes, goalkeeper Osei Kwame had no chance as he was late to save the ball.
Being very compact and difficult for Inter Allies to break through, Medeama held on their slender lead until first half.
It was an improved performance from the ‘Eleven Is To One’ in the second half but the same story as to the difficulties in finding the back of the net.
Gockel Ahortor who had scored from four free kicks prior to this game, once again wrote his name in gold.
On the 74th minute mark, the midfielder grabbed the equaliser from a dead ball once again to send his free kick tally to 5 this season.
Despite putting a charged performance, the ‘Eleven Is To One’ were caught off guard and committed a penalty in the 87th minute.
Osei Kwame pulled his heroics displays once again as he punched Bismark Oppong’s spot kick away.
It ended 1-1, leaving Inter Allies 14th on the league log with 26 points.
