Inter Allies recorded a famous 2-1 victory over Accra Hearts at the Tema Sports Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

Striker Ropapa Mensah and midfielder Gockel Ahortor scored in the second half with Isaac Oduro getting a consolation in between Inter Allies two goals.

Head coach Paa Kwesi Fabin made a single change to the side that lost to All Stars last week with Issah Yakubu replacing Lord Ofosuhene. Prosper Kasim coming from the African Youth Championship was given a place at the bench with Simon Martey and Gockel Ahortor.

The Phobians settled very quickly into the game and made their intentions known. Gilbert Fiamenyo their main weapon had the game’s first real attack but was flagged for offside after a receiving a pass from the midfield.

With a quick response, Fredrick Yamoah picked Ropapa Mensah at the left side but the latter’s effort went narrowly wide.

Paa Kwesi Fabin’s men took absolute control of the game and nearly opened scoring in the 21st minute, Niare Benogo sent a long free kick to Ropapa Mensah in the box but the striker with a feeble shot went straight to Luggard.

Seemed the goals were just at Ropapa’s feet, the young striker went round Hearts defense to pull a trigger but went to the corner of Luggard’s posts for him collect.

With what looked a busy day for Inter Allies defense, goalkeeper Osei Kwame wasnt left out of action. Isaac Oduro launched a direct free kick to the far posts but Osei Kwame pulled a magical save to deny the visitors the lead.

Nothing more popped up as both sides locked their backs till the end of the first half break.

The Eleven Is To One were pushed back in the early embers of the game with  Hearts initiating  several attacks.

Six minutes after the hour mark, Inter Allies scored. Baba Mensah launched a long ball in to beat Hearts defenders, Ropapa stole the ball and slotted home his first goal for the club.

The tempo of the game rose with Inter Allies applying more pressure but the Phobians were very resolute.

Hearts were seriously searching for the equalizer with Gilbert Fiamenyo firing straight to Osei Kwame with what looked like a glorious chance.
Inter Allies responded quickly with Baba Mensah heading to Tetteh Luggard’s side posts from a Fredrick Yamoah’s corner kick.

The Phobians after asking many questions finally got their equalizer. Isaac Oduro converted a very beautiful free kick on the 84th minute grabbing his second goal of the season,

And when everyone thought the spoils would be shared, Gockel Ahortor thought otherwise. The substitute curled in from the edge of the box in the 94th minute after Simon Martey had set him to win the game for the Eleven Is To One.

Inter Allies with this win have moved to 4th on the league log.
