Inter Allies succumbed to a second defeat in the second round of the league as they lost 1-0 to local rivals Liberty Professionals at the Dansoman Carl Reindoff Park.

Captain Baba Mensah was red carded in the 14th minute after he tackled Kennedy Ashia, however Edward Ebo Mends’ 85th minute strike silenced the ‘Eleven Is To One’

Coach Paa Kwesi handed midfielder Issah Yakubu a starting role after he missed the previous game against Kotoko. Sulley Mohammed started upfront with Sheriff Mohammed.

The ‘Eleven Is To One’ didn’t settle and captain Baba Mensah was sent off. The defender went in for a tackle around the penalty area, he was first booked and later sent off after the defender tried to question his card in the 14th minute.

The sending off didn’t have a major effect on Paa Kwesi Fabin’s boys as they fought through to the end of the mandatory first half.

It all looked set for a draw until the 85th minute. A free kick was sent from the right side for goalkeeper Osei Kwame to punch out but Ebo Mends was quick to the rebound as he slotted home from close range.

After getting some chances of their own, Inter Allies failed to notch the equalizer.

The team have now dropped from 3rd to 5th on the league log with 41 points with two league games to end the season.
