Inter Allies defied all odds and defeated Wa All Stars at the Wa Park on Wednesday in the match day 13 fixture of the Zylofon Cash Premier League.

Midfielder Michel Otou’s 69th minute penalty goal was enough for the Capelli Boys to grab first away win of the season.

Head Coach Kenichi Yatshuashi handed striker Chekezie Uwandu Alozie his first start of the season.

The attacker joined George Amonoo and Abdul Nassiru Hamzah upfront with Saed Salifu starting in between the sticks.

Defender Hashmin Musah was pushed forward, Michel Otou and Samuel Bekoe held the midfield tight.

Fuseini Mohammed right back, Richard Antwi at left and Maxwell Ansah and Issahaku Zakari paired in defence.

Allies found their rhythm very early into the game, Chekezie Uwandu Alozie who was playing his first game of the season tormented the defenders.

He capitalized on Abdul Nassiru Hamzah’s speed to push the hosts back during the half, Saed Salifu on the other hand denied All Stars good goalscoring chances. 

Wahid Mumuni on two occasions tried his luck from distance but Saed Salifu was too quick to save all opportunities.

The first half ended goalless. 

However, the hosts who were quiet in the first half were different in the second half. They started the half on a good note and pushed men forward for the opener.

Allies also showed composure in defense and thwarted all efforts from Wa All Stars, Saed Salifu once again pushed a lot of balls away.

The Capelli Boys broke the hearts of the home fans when the referee awarded a penalty for Allies on the 68th minute.

Dan Amanfo picked Chekezie Uwandu Alozie in the box, the attacker was brought down in the box after rounding the goalkeeper.

Michel Otou stood up and calmly converted from the spot, his first goal for the Club.

Wa All Stars heaped a lot of pressure on the Capelli Boys but the visitors stood firm at the back and held on to win their first away game in two seasons.

Inter Allies goalkeeper Saed Salifu was named the NASCO Man of the match.
