Inter Allies shared spoils with Elmina Sharks on opening day of the GFA / Normalisation Special Competition on Sunday at the Tema Sports Stadium.

Despite both sides creating several goal scoring opportunities, they failed to shake the back of the net on a sunny afternoon.

Coach Rashid Iddi handed promoted goalkeeper Clement Aryee his debut for the senior side, Paul Abanga was the captain of the day and started at right back.

Fuseini Eliasu started at left back leaving Rolland Addi and Ishmael Otutey in the center of defense.

Michel Otou, Patrick Amarh and Ivan Kpeglo formed a 3-man midfield with Abdul Nassiru Hamzah, Dan Amanfo and Alex Aso upfront.

With Allies starting the game with 5 youth debutants it was obvious Sharks would come at the Capelli Boys and they didn’t fail to do so.

The game was taken to the hosts, Felix Addo first saw his shot in the box blocked before Benjamin Tweneboah missed from six yards.

Allies bounced back and took charge of the game but also missed changes. Hamzah and Alex were both denied the opener when they had their chances.

The back of the net eluded both teams at halftime. The early embers after recess was virtually the same as the last minutes of the first half.

Allies came in very hard but Sharks proved to be a very difficult side with a tight defense, making it difficult for our attackers.

The Capelli Boys kept pushing for the breakthrough, however Sharks had different expectations and kept the game solid at the back until the final whistle.

The opening day fixture ended goalless at the Tema Sports Stadium.  Issaka Mohammed of Elmina Sharks was named the man of the match.
