Inter Allies ended the first round of the 2017/18 Zylofon Cash Premier League with a defeat against Karela United on a wet Sunday afternoon.

Paul Abanga’s 35th minute penalty was only a consolation as Abdul Ganiu Ismail and William Opoku Mensah’s goals ended our 3 game unbeaten run.

Youngster Yaw Dwomoh had his first game of the season after being promoted to the first team.

Goalkeeper Saed Salifu was called to duty early in the game with series of attacks.

Allies were pegged early in the game, the hosts were awarded a penalty on the 7th minute mark after Emmanuel Hammond was adjudged to have handled the ball in the box.

Abdul Ganiu Ismail converted from the spot kick nicely, the hosts took the lead.

Emmanuel Hammond made amends 28 minutes later after Allies orchestrated several attacks.

The lanky forward met Baffour Gyawu’s corner from the left, straight to the hands of the opponents’ defender.

Paul Abanga stepped up and slotted home nicely to level things at the Crosby Awuah Memorial Park.

Both sides failed to add to the tally at half time. But it’s the home side who moved forward more in the second half. 

Saed Salifu proved to be thorn in their flesh, just saving series of attacks.

Allies looked good at the back until a goal mouth melee which substitute William Mensah forced home to seal victory for the home team in the 86th minute.

Inter Allies goalkeeper Saed Salifu was named the NASCO MVP.
