Inter Allies commenced the 2016/17 Ghana Premier League season with a goalless stalemate against Hearts of Oak at the El Wak Stadium on a wet Monday afternoon.

Kwame Baah was the captain of the day and started in between the sticks, Paul Abanga and Abass Mohammed started on the right and left side of defence respectively.

Wahab Ackwei and Uriah Kporvi were paired in defence, Hashmin Musah, Isaac Twum, youngster Samuel Bekoe and Frederick Yamoah controlled the midfield.

Ropapa Mensah and Isaac Osae played side-by-side upfront and exhibited one of the finest partnerships in attack.

Despite heavy rains, the game lived to it’s hype after some exciting exchanges in the opening minutes of the game.

The ‘Eleven Is To One’ could have opened the scoring in the first half, Wahab Ackwei saw his powerful header hit the crossbar.

Close to the end of the first of the half, Paul Abanga sent a teasing cross from the right but Ropapa Mensah headed straight to Ben Mensah.

The second half was a bit calm, both sides were cautious and defended very well, Isaac Osae’s early chance in the half was calmly saved by the goalkeeper.

Inter Allies kept pushing for the opener, Frederick Opoku Yamoah failed to control a pass from the middle which saw a glorious opportunity go waste.

Both sides ended the half on a high however, the search for a goal in the match became a word that couldn’t be found in the game’s dictionary.

Ropapa Mensah was named the man-of-the-match
