Summary – Inter Allies 1-0 Eleven Wonders – Accra:

The new year brought us back to winning ways with a narrow win at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday afternoon – Match day 7 encounter.

Attacker Alex Aso scored his first goal for the Club and the match winner in the second half after a tough and barren first half.

New Head Coach Danijel Mujkanovic got the start to his Inter Allies stint on a good note as he paired Michael Kporvi and Mohammed Zakari upfront.

Emmanuel Adjetey and Alex Aso started on the flanks, Richmond Lamptey and Desmond Abuga stayed in the middle of the park.

The back four remained the same with Fard Ibrahim and Paul Abanga as laterals, Hashmin Musah and Isah Ali in the heart of defence and Rashid Seidu in posts.

Needing the win so badly, Michael Kporvi got us underway with a lot of runs in the opponent’s half and caused problems right from the start.

Alex Aso nearly broke the deadlock after a quarter of an hour gone, he received a fine pass from Richmond Lamptey in the box but his final shot went closely wide.

It was rather a cagey affair in the latter part of the half and both sides held on tight until half time.

We came back from recess with more pressure and so many questions in front of goal.

Six minutes into the half, Michael Kporvi charged the goalkeeper for a loose ball he won the duel, the ball fell on the plate for Mohammed Zakari but his lob was grabbed by the goalkeeper.

Just five minutes after, the deadlock was broken. Fard Ibrahim sent a teasing free kick in, Alex Aso made himself big in the box and tapped in from close range.

With more pressure on the visitors, we came close to getting a penalty. Mohammed Zakari made his way through the fence and set Emmanuel Adjetey who fell in the box but the referee would have none of that.

Even though the visitors piled a lot of pressure in the dying embers of the game, our defensive unit made sure we left the game with yet another clean sheet.

Our player, Mohammed Zakari was named the NASCO Man of the match.
