Summary – Inter Allies 1-0 WAFA SC – Accra:

In a very long while, we had a win in the league and had to go home with smiles.

Inter Allies defeated WAFA SC 1-0 at the Accra Sports Stadium on Saturday afternoon to clear match day 15 encounter of the ongoing Ghana Premier League.

Nafiu Sulemana’s powerful header in the second half powered us to only our third win of the Season so far.

The technical team handed some of the new players their debuts with Abdul Nassiru Hamzah returning to make his second debut.

Sunday Kalu, Richard Arthur and Emmanuel Agyemang Badu were also handed their starting roles.

The first half an hour was very intense and positive for us, we dominated and created some decent chances but none found the back of the net.

It was very difficult half with WAFA showing one of the toughest defensive setups in the league, the first half ended goalless.

Though a difficult start to the second half with the away side creating most of the problems, we had a better shot at goal.

Five minutes after the hour mark, Fard Ibrahim sent a teasing corner kick in and Nafiu Sulemana was quick to meet the ball with a strong header. The goalkeeper for the first time in the game was beaten.

It could have been two for us just ten minutes later but Richard Arthur’s one-on-one opportunity with the goalkeeper was calmly saved.

It was a great show by the goalkeeper who also did very well to parry Abdul Nassiru Hamzah’s shot away.

WAFA showed strength in the last embers of the game but their efforts went futile.

Richard Arthur who had his debut for us, was named the NASCO Man of the match.
