Summary – Inter Allies 1-1 AshantiGold – Accra:
We were held to a to 1-1 draw at the Accra Sports Stadium by AshantiGold on Friday afternoon in match day 17 fixture on the 2020/21 Ghana Premier League season.
Richmond Lamptey’s beautiful curler in the second half was cancelled later on by Dacosta Boadu to earn us a point in the last match of the first round.
Kingsley Fidelis Kuku was handed his first start after coming on in the last game, replacing Sunday Henry Kalu, Fard Ibrahim also started ahead of Emmanuel Adjetey.
The visitors were actually the better side in the opening minutes with David Abagna going close twice in the first ten minutes of the match.
But after that, we took over with high pressing and Richard Arthur also went close to getting the first goal of the game on two different occasions.
The defenders of both sides held their lines very firm and ended the first half in a goalless draw.
Richmond Lamptey replaced Felix Abuska ten minutes after recess and had an instant impact.
He curled in a very beautiful one in at the edge of the box after a corner kick rebound fell to him – just seven minutes after joining play.
The visitors also responded on the 76th minute with Dacosta Boadu slotting home the equaliser from close range.
We kept pushing for the winner – Samuel Armah went very close to getting past the goalkeeper but his injury-time effort was saved calmly.
The gamed ended 1-1 and our midfielder Richmond Lamptey who scored the goal for us was named the NASCO man of the match.
