After going three matches without a win in the NC Special Competition, Allies defeated Dreams 2-1 at the Tema Sports Stadium In Thursday afternoon to register first win.

Michel Otou converted from the spot late in the first half, Effiong Nsungusi Jnr doubled the lead earlier in the second half before Razak Cromwell got the consolation late on for the visitors.

Dan Amanfo returned to the line up in place of Samuel Armah, Emmanuel Kuzuma also replaced Paul Abanga in the starting XI and Saed Salifu has his first start in between the sticks. 

Abdul Nassiru Hamzah and Effiong Nsungusi Jnr could have brought early smile to the faces of the home fans with chances missed, both players went close to the opener in the early embers of the game.

Allies enjoyed the lion share of possession but the Dreams defense proved very stubborn all round, they kept the Capellli Boys from the hitting the back of the net.

It looked like a barren first half until the final minute. Dreams defender Issah Yakubu had a rough tackle on Effiong Nsungusi Jnr which resulted in a penalty.

Michel Otou stepped up and slotted it low and hard into the bottom corner at the full stretch of goalkeeper Isaac Amoako who got the direction right.

It was a well deserved lead at half time, the second half had a lot of exciting moments.

Effiong Nsungusi Jnr received a fine pass from Michel Otou and banged in his third goal of the competition with a powerful strike.

The Capelli Boys could have scored more after Abdul Nassiru Hamzah and Bernard Quarcoo fluffed some goalscoring opportunities.

Dreams bounced into the game in the 79th minute. Bernard Quarcoo handled the ball in the box and Abdul Razak Cromwell halved the deficit from the spot.

It was too little too late for the visitors, as their final push for the equalizer went futile.

Inter Allies striker Abdul Nassiru Hamzah was named the man of the match.
