General captain Seidu Dabo has assured fans that he and his men have what it takes to beat Accra Hearts of Oak and keep the survival hopes alive.

On Wednesday May 21, Inter Allies will face Hearts of Oak at the Accra Sports Stadium in the First Capital Plus Premier League match day 28.

Both teams can’t afford to lose, Hearts need the points to keep their CAF Champions League hopes alive while Inter Allies need the points to help beat relegation.
Inter Allies had a very bad start to the season losing the first 8 games but revived their bid before the penultimate fixture to end the first round of the season.

Dabo believes the arrival of head coach Herbert Addo and the January transfer window that saw the likes of Abdul Fatawu Safiu and Lord Ofosuhene return from Sweden and Portugal respectively, Talla Ndiaye, Niare Benogo, Frank Andoh, Issouf Kabore just to mention a few did a lot of good to the team.

“We had it very tough at the start of the season, we were really playing well, dominating every opposition but we weren’t winning. I think we were saved by the arrival of Herbert Addo and the January transfer signings did us a huge amount of good,” he told the club’s official website.

The motivational captain also believes the rapport among the players and the technical team has contributed to the massive turn-around.

Even though the club are in the FA Cup final and are now doing well in the league, Dabo says the team is not satisfied with what they’ve done, as their target is the FA Cup trophy and the chance to play in the CAF Confederations Cup and be in the league next season.

Dabo said: “We are not satisfied with what we’ve done, we aim for the ultimate (the FA Cup trophy), we want to play in the CAF Confederation Cup because we deserve to be there. Our performances in recent matches have shown that we can survive relegation and be in the league that’s what the team wants.”

He added: ” We are stronger and it keeps getting better because of the unity in camp, we understand the task ahead of us. There’s a common understating among us (the players) and we relate well with the technical handlers too.”

Despite having their personal problems, Hearts of Oak are still the team to beat, lying third on the league with 41 points and their desire to return to the CAF Champions League has been the team’s motivation

But Dabo says there’s nothing to be afraid of as he and his boys are ready for the battle.

“We are ready for the game, it won’t be easy but we are ready, we respect Hearts of Oak and we know they’re are one of the biggest clubs in country and in Africa as a whole.

“But we are not scared of them, as I said earlier we respect them, so the field will determine who wins. Surely we will be victorious.

On what to expect on Wednesday, the solid defender kept it simple: “Expect good football from us.”
