As we prepare for yet another season in the country’s topflight competitions, we take a look at some memorable scenes in our debut season in 2014. 

  1. LOST FIRST SEVEN GAMES:

Getting promotion to the Ghana Premier League was a dream come true for some of the boys who had worked all season in the Division One throughout the middle league. Unfortunately things didn’t start the way it should be, in what looked like a baptism of fire, Inter Allies lost the seven opening matches – Dwarfs (0-2), Aduana (2-1), Hearts (2-3), Edubiase (1-0), Kotoko (0-1), All Stars (3-2) and Hasaacas (0-1).

  1. TEAM WENT TEN GAMES UNBEATEN:

After starting the second round with a draw against Medeama and a defeat against Amidaus, Inter Allies bounced to a 10-game unbeaten run. Starting with a 1-0 win over King Faisal in Tema, Ashanti Gold (1-1), Chelsea (3-2), Heart of Lions (2-2), Liberty (2-1), Be hem (1-1), Hasaacas (2-0), All Stars (1-0), Kotoko (0-1) and New Edubiase (1-0).

  1. ENDED DEBUT SEASON SIXTH:

Despite having a bad start to the 2013/14 league season, the Eleven Is To One bounced back from losing the first seven games to finish the season 6th on the league table with a goalless draw in Cape Coast against Ebusua Dwarfs, beating Aduana Stars 1-0 in the penultimate game in Tema to secure Premier League for this season. The team placed 6th after 30 games in a league of 16 teams.

  1. FA CUP FINAL

It was a successful year in the FA Cup also, the club clawed back from the first round through to the last game against Kotoko. We troubled the eventual winners in the final game from the blast of the whistle, we levelled matters after going down in the first half and lost in the final minutes of extra time.

  1. KPOZO WINS DISCOVERY AWARD:

Left back Patrick Kpozo won the Discovery Player at the end of 2013/14 MTN FA Cup. Featuring in most games throughout the campaign, Kpozo became a prominent member in the squad and helped tirelessly to put the team in a respectable shape.

  1. YAW ACHEAMPONG REPLACED HEBERT ADDO:

Coach Hebert Addo left his post as head coach at the end of the season, Hebert helped the team to survive relegation after starting the league season on a poor note.

Coach Yaw Acheampong was appointed to replace Herbert Addo.

  1. ERREA KITS DEAL SIGNED

In September, Inter Allies signed a sponsorship deal with Italian manufacturers Errea. The Italian firm will produce sporting apparels for the club with authentic team football materials.

  1. PAA KWESI FABIN BEEFED TECHNICAL TEAM:

Just a day to end the year, Ghana under 17 coach Paa Kwesi Fabin was appointed to strengthen the technical bench of the team. Paa Kwesi will also be the Director of Education for our Football School.

We hope to have a better season in 2015 as the new season awaits.
