The Ghana Football Association announced on Tuesday that Gockel Ahortor, Isaac Twum and Evans Mensah have been called up for home-based Black Stars duty.

They will join the home-based Black Stars squad for a training on Monday April 25, 2016 as they prepare to travel to Japan for an international friendly match.

The trio and 22 other invited players are expected to arrive at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence, Prampram at 4pm on Monday.

The home-based Black Stars have been invited to face the Japanese National Under-23 side in an international friendly which has been scheduled for Wednesday May 11.

This becomes Gockel Ahortor’s first national team call up. The midfielder has been in some fantastic form this season scoring three goals in 7 games.

Isaac Twum has been terrific so far this season, the U-20 midfielder has scored twice from six appearances.

Evans Mensah who’s having a fantastic season has had Black Stars call up after being named man of the match on three occasions with a goal.
