We didn’t adapt to our game due to injuries

Inter Allies technical adviser Umit Turmus has pointed out his team did not have good time to adapt to his game plan after two early injuries in the first half of the 2-2 draw against Karela United in the NC Special Competition at the Tema Sports Stadium.

The Capelli Boys started brilliantly after dominating the opening exchanges and deservedly scored the opening goal after having possession for long periods in the half. Injuries to goal provider Gideon Asoandzie and center back Ali Abdul Rahman forced the trainer to make early substitutions that changed the shape of his defensive lines.

Karela came back in the second half to register two quick goals and was in the lead until the final minutes when Allies got back in the game to draw level.

The Turkish trainer said the early changes in the game did not allow his team to adapt well and that allowed the opponents to capitalize on the defensive frailties of his side.

“My problem today was injury to my left back in the first half which forced a change and to my center back middle of the time which forced a change too. It was not a good time for adaptation and our rhythm dropped which the opponents capitalized on.”

“When we got back in the game, time was already up. We’ve got to play better and I don’t care we are not winning. We are progressing and will prepare a team for next season.”

Inter Allies have won just a game and drawn three so far in the NC Special competition.
